Another 12 inch diameter hub I made for Lynn of Minnesota. This wind generator has a blade diameter of 8.5 feet. A big boy!

Lynn of Minnesota loves the 12 inch 8 blade hub I made. "SWEET" This bugger looks wicked.

This is a new design (3rd generation) of a pivot mount (slip ring) I
came up with. It is made to be slid over schedule 40, 2.5 inch diameter pipe and can be slid over 1.5 inch diameter schedule 40
pipe with adapter rings I fabricated.

Here is the breakdown of the internal components of the pivot mount.

I came up with the idea of using ball bearings for the pickup brushes to
transfer power from the generator side to the ground. Dual ball bearing pickups to ensure positive contact at all times and no more broken brushes.

This is a prototype design wind generator that I fabricated and will be going to a customer. I plan on redesigning the power transfer pivot point to a smaller diameter tube so it can be slipped over the top of the towers currently on the market. It will use internal brushes with an external power transfer point to allow a power cable to be hooked up to.

The nose cone I also made myself using carbon fiber.

The only items I did not fabricate were the generator and the blades. The pivot point is a lathe motor that died and I used the inside "guts" to make the power transfer point.
